THE INNOCENT CHUKWUMA AWARD FOR YOUTH AND GENDER EMPOWERMENT IN THE SOUTH-EAST

Youth and Gender Empowerment in the South-East 2023

The second award of the Innocent Chukwuma Award for Youth and Gender Empowerment in the South East was presented to the 2023 winner at the 10th SIPA, Gift Muoneke of Greenera Technologies. Gift Muoneke, a social entrepreneur, is the co-founder and CEO of Greenera Technologies, a social enterprise tackling Nigeria’s electricity scarcity. His expertise lies in Robotics and Electrical Engineering.

This year, in addition to receiving a placque, Gift also received a monetary award of N250,000 from Innocent Chukwuemeka Chukwuma Empowerment Foundation for his outstanding contribution to the development of youth in the southeast. Gift was not just a recipient of the award he was also mentored by Innocent at the Oluaka Institute through the Heartland Incubation Hub an institute set up by Innocent for business development and incubation. Indeed, this is a full circle.

Youth and Gender Empowerment in the South-East 2022

In 2022, the Innocent Chukwuma Award was introduced at the Social Innovators Programme Awards (SIPA), hosted by LEAP Africa. This award, created in memory of an exceptional advocate for youth development and innovation, serves as a tribute to his legacy.

The Innocent Chukwuma Award recognizes alumni who have made outstanding contributions to youth mobilization and gender empowerment in the South-Eastern region of Nigeria. These individuals stand as true champions of change!

In 2022, Amanda Obidike, a remarkable alumna and SIP 2020/2021 Alumna, Founding Curator of the WEF Global Shapers, Ozubulu Hub, and Executive Director of STEMi Makers Africa, received this prestigious award. Amanda’s dedication to gender empowerment and youth mobilization is inspiring. She was honoured with a prize that includes an Executive Programme at LBS and invaluable mentorship from Mrs Chukwuma
