ICCEF Supports Tech hackathon by Oluaka Institute

ICCEF’s mission is to support initiatives that provide Nigerian youth and women with the opportunities to discover and develop themselves to become self-reliant and credible leaders who drive positive impact in their communities.

ICCEF has supported the Oluaka Institute to hold a Tech hackathon as part of its line-up of events for the second memorial anniversary of Innocent Chukwuma. The call for applications had 14 applicants and 5 hackers who met the selection criteria were selected to pitch their ideas. A team of 4 judges judged the hackers based on their use of technology, scalability, innovation, and business startup possibility. At the end of the pitch, 3 winners emerged. The 3rd place went to young Mathiasonu Divine Chikwesiri; with the business name sharebuy whose idea is to use tech to provide income earners with farm produce at reduced cost and to save them the time of going to the market. The 2nd place went to Godfirst Onuoha; with the business name Clerico who developed an app and website to enable graduates to complete university school clearance from anywhere. The third-place and second-place winners went home each with N50,000. The winner of the N100,000 grand prize is Okwuosa Chukwuebuka Emmanuel; with the business name Softwork whose idea is an app that allows students to read lecture notes from their lecturers in school. Lecturers and tutors can also earn by uploading or requesting the lecture notes to be uploaded on the app. Also, students can access these learnings from anywhere.
