It is designed to carry on the mandate of serving the community and promoting young people and women. ICCEF is committed to building a platform that unlocks opportunities for peer learning and value building initiatives. ICCEF has 5 program areas through which it will achieve its vision and mission while living Innocent’s legacy.
WELCOME TO ICCEF
Innocent Chukwuemeka Chukwuma Empowerment Foundation – ICCEF is a family foundation set up in honor of Innocent Chukwuma to drive his vision of an empowered young generation and an inclusive society where women and young people thrive. Innocent dedicated more than three decades of his life to fighting for marginalized voices, creating new ideas for social justice and building platforms for creative support to the civic space and civic voices. He was resolute and consistent about amplifying new voices and promoting intergenerational mentoring. Innocent strongly believed in women’s rights and had as his sign off on his email a pledge that “I will not serve as a panelist at a public conference when there are no women on the panel”
PROGRAM AREAS
MENTORING & INTERGENERATIONAL DIALOGUES
Good role models and positive mentoring of young persons is a huge problem in Nigeria today. The programme connects youths (mentees) with professionals (mentors) who can offer support, guidance and encouragement as they try to develop their skills.
YOUTH INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGICAL STARTUPS
This programme supports organisations and institutions that train/build the capacity of young persons to be innovative in setting up youth-led social enterprises in the technological and innovation ecosystem.
Our Daughters’ Project
This project is driven by Innocent’s three children based on their appreciation of their father’s passion and interest especially as a feminist who believed in and practised gender equality and equity.
Community Youth Empowerment & Education
This programme gives scholarships to young males and females at secondary and tertiary educational levels. It also supports teenagers and young adults in the to acquire skills that would either help them get jobs or make them create jobs (be entrepreneurial).
Legacy Projects
This project tracks all projects in Innocent’s name. It liaises with organizations hosting or intending to host projects and activities in his name to ensure successful outcomes of the projects.
The Innocent Chukwuma Library, dedicated to honouring the legacy of the late Innocent Chukwuma, is a testament to his passion for knowledge and education, featuring a comprehensive collection of books that he loved, owned, wrote, published, or edited.
Our Story
ICCEF was established in 2022 to honour the vision and values of Innocent Chukwuemeka Chukwuma, a criminologist, justice sector specialist; good governance advocate; social justice crusader, human rights activist; gender and youth advocate; and an institution builder.

Directly empower 2000+ young women and men, including students in secondary schools through our Y.E.E.T programme
Institutionalise, amplify and expand various legacy projects in memory of the man Innocent in collaboration with other organizations and institutions.

The Impact Investors Foundation celebrates the life and times of Innocent Chukwuma who they call Nigeria’s Impact Investment Hero.
Social Impact Chair And Fellowship
The unveiling of the Innocent Chukwuma Social Impact Chair and Fellowship in honour of Innocent Chukwuma and his works. This is supported by the Ford Foundation and hosted annually by Lagos Business School.
